Right before I moved to New York City (a little over two weeks ago), my mom had two requests; be careful and send her a photograph everyday so that she knows I am alive. I chuckled when she said this. I brushed it off and continued preparing for my move. I knew that I would be back and forth between Arkansas and New York City for weddings pretty often so I figured she would feel better once she saw me coming home every now and then.
When I got to New York, I was instantly a little homesick which is pretty normal anytime someone moves across the country. I felt it much more than I had anticipated though. I sought out my support system and buried myself in work on my photo projects. The first day passed. Then on the second day I remembered my promise! I quickly took a photo on my phone and sent it to my mom. So in all honesty, I totally missed the first day but I have been consistent since day two.
Below are the photographs in order of the days that I sent them with some of the messages I sent. They are all taken on my iPhone and some of them were taken when I was a bit rushed because I almost forgot to take one on that particular day.
