Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 11 | Jenn Terrell Photography
Uplift Blog Series: I wanted to help be a part of online positivity in the wake of the coronavirus and social distancing measures. I have had the honor of working with some amazing people who have such interesting and uplifting stories. ❤️I think now is the perfect time to share some of those. At first, I was going to put them all into one post but I think they are each so strong they deserve their own post and it will give me something to look forward to sharing with the world each day.
DAY 11
Today’s post features one of my favorite artists of all time- Hubert Neal, Jr. ❤️When I first met Hubert years ago, we had both just moved to Bentonville, him from Miami Beach and me from Hawaii. He had opened an art studio next to my apartment complex. My landlord told me I had to meet him since I was a photographer. I met Hubert, showed him some of my photographs, and he put me into the group show he had coming up at his gallery. Honestly, it was the first time anyone had ever considered me for a gallery exhibition. That part of the art world was new to me. I was used to photographing weddings and lifestyle shoots and I did have my own personal work, I just didn’t know what to do with the personal projects. I didn’t know that my personal work had the potential to be shown in exhibitions. Since that show I have had my work in six other exhibitions including one solo show of my work. I am one of many artists that Hubert has inspired to make a career with their artist abilities. He has selflessly taken many artists under his wing and given them a space to work and exhibit their work with out asking for anything in return. He has shown me how much kindness really can radiate and how there really is room for everyone to succeed. So today’s uplifting post goes to someone who uplifts so many with his work and the community of artists he has helped to build.
