Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 14 | Jenn Terrell Photography

Uplift Blog Series: I wanted to help be a part of online positivity in the wake of the coronavirus and social distancing measures. I have had the honor of working with some amazing people who have such interesting and uplifting stories. ❤️I think now is the perfect time to share some of those. At first, I was going to put them all into one post but I think they are each so strong they deserve their own post and it will give me something to look forward to sharing with the world each day.

DAY 14

Two weeks of social isolation, y’all. I won’t lie, at times I am going a bit nuts but I know staying in is so dang important right now.

For today’s post, I thought it would be nice to revisit one of the best years of my life. I lived in South Korea for a year beginning in the fall of 2012. I moved there to teach English and to explore. It was my first time to leave America at all and I was so excited. It was such an eye-opening experience and if you ever talk to me about it in person you will see how happy I am just to chat about what life was like there. The only thing that was really difficult was missing my friends and family. I adjusted to everything else pretty well. And I can not say enough about how amazing Korean people were to me. They were so nice and helpful. The friends I made there were so phenomenal too. ✨I made a few life-long friends and I will never forget the amazing memories we made there. 🥂

I took thousands of photos during my time there but here are just a couple for now. ❤️ I have a project in the works for the rest of them. 😁

This was at the annual Lantern Festival in Seoul. It was truly one of the best nights of my life. Koreans and foreigners (like myself) all danced together and enjoyed a beautiful evening.

My friends and I got lost one day when we took the wrong bus home from the beach. The bus we were one had their last stop out in the countryside by this rice field where this man was working. We waited outside while the bus driver called the station…

We waited outside while the bus driver called the station to see what to do with us since we couldn’t speak much Korean and we clearly did not know we had taken the wrong bus. haha He eventually took us back to the beach to wait for the correct bus.

This man started talking to me and my friends as we were walking home one evening. He was SO FULL OF ENERGY. He kept dancing around and talking. We could not help but smile as he carried on. He was amazing!

This was a lovely moment on a cold winter morning by the ocean. I saw a little kid playing with the sand and snapped a photo. ❤
