Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 15 | Jenn Terrell Photography

Uplift Blog Series: I wanted to help be a part of online positivity in the wake of the coronavirus and social distancing measures. I have had the honor of working with some amazing people who have such interesting and uplifting stories. ❤️I think now is the perfect time to share some of those. At first, I was going to put them all into one post but I think they are each so strong they deserve their own post and it will give me something to look forward to sharing with the world each day.

DAY 15

Today’s post features one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. Truly! We became friends after I interviewed her for our school newspaper in graduate school. I remembered her saying that she had worked at the UN in Haiti and I thought she would make a great feature story. I had NO idea that her story had SO many layers. After I interviewed her, I actually felt that her story was so big, it might be one of the most important stories of my career and I was just a young journalism student. The story plus photos ended up being published by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette as well and Christina became one of my best friends. She continues to inspire me and make me proud every single day. I am so, so grateful for her friendship ❤️😭

You can read the story I wrote after our interview here: https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2016/feb/25/haiti-earthquake-survivor-strives-empower-women/

The first photo below was taken a couple of years later after our friendship was in full blossom. We attended the first Women’s March after Trump was elected and I snapped this photo.

The second photo was a separate protest after Trump was elected. Both protests were full of love and empowerment.
