I met up with Drew and Mary in Bentonville and we had a physically distant friend date. We got dinner to-go, sprayed sanitizer on some outdoor seating and chatted for an hour. It was so nice to meet up with them. ❤️I snapped a few photos of them in this alley before we ate our dinner.

46: Arkansas Greenhouse Photos | Bentonville, Arkansas

When she showed up for the session, she was wearing the PERFECT dress! The dress was purple and flowy and it just looked gorgeous on her! We walked around the greenhouse chatting, laughing and dancing. I had such a great time with her! The greenhouse was perfect too! So many varieties of flowers and plants. Each time we moved to a different area it looked like we were in an entirely different location. I will say, if you plan to check out Matkins Greenhouse make sure you have plenty of extra cash to spend because it will be hard to leave without any of their gorgeous plants and flowers.

43: Getting Motivated as an Artist | Jenn Terrell Photography

Every once in a while I will feel the need for something different. The need for something inspiring. I think most artists go through phases like this. This feeling is what sparks growth. It is yourself telling you, you need something different because you need to grow. You need to experiment. You need to try new things pertaining to your field. And Picasso himself said,” Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.”

Day 37: How I Got My Start in Photography as a Career | Jenn Terrell, Arkansas + Florida Photographer

I love swapping stories with others about how they got their start in whatever they are passionate about. I remember when I was 15 or 16, I borrowed my sister’s point and shoot digital camera. My best friend and I got dressed up and I took pictures of her individually and us together. We had such a good time and felt so confident. I have no idea where those photos are now but that was so much fun. ❤️Then when I was 19 I bought a film camera from goodwill. I bought some film and my friend show me how to load it. I started photographing everything.

Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 33 | Jenn Terrell Photography

Today I am sharing a couple of portraits of my mom. The idea for to take these portraits came after I had a dream about photographing my dad who passed when I was 12. I didn’t get a camera until I was about 15 so I never took any proper photos of him when he was alive. In my dream everything felt so real. He was right there and I was finally given the chance the photograph him. I was nervous and I was asking him to stay still as I adjusted my lens. I remember thinking, in my dream, about which lens would be the best and how important these photos would be.

Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 29 | Jenn Terrell Photography

Today’s post features another South Beach fixture. The first time I went to South Beach I saw him selling magnets and I thought he was just so interesting so I asked to take his photo. It was dark outside but the lights on Ocean Drive were perfect for this shot. Then when I moved to South Beach a few months sort of a year later, I looked for him every time I walked down Ocean Drive but I didn’t see him until around December. The first photo below is the one I took on my first trip to South Beach. The following photos are photos I took when I finally caught up with him again a year later and he was just as interesting! I love his style!

A Virtual Couple Session with Chris and Hannah | Jenn Terrell Photography

This couple in particular is extra special to me. This is my brother and sister-in-law. They are the goofiest, kindest and most loving people. I visited them in Oregon a couple of winters ago and I had so much fun! They come to Arkansas from time-to-time to and it is always so great to see them. 💕I was stoked when they wanted to set up a session! Hannah showed me one of the major benefits of super long hair: the perfect split mustache (see below). 😎 I can’t wait until this pandemic is over and I can go get some tacos with them in Oregon. 💕

Uplifting Photos in the Wake of the Corona Virus, Day 22 | Jenn Terrell Photography

The internet is a weird but sometimes awesome thing. On my very first trip to Miami Beach in December 2018, I really wanted to do a photoshoot while I was there visiting. I scoured instagram looking for someone in Miami/Miami Beach who might model for me. I have used instagram to find subjects for a variety of things for magazines, model calls, etc. It is a super useful way to connect. I came across the instagram of a young woman who was studying marine biology.
